Dental Implants | Buxton Family Dental

When you lose a tooth, it can change the way you speak, the way you chew, and even the way you smile. At Buxton Family Dental, we offer state-of-the-art dental implants to help you reclaim your speaking voice, your ability to chew, and your smile.

Dental implants are not bridges or dentures. They are permanent replacements for missing teeth! They look real. They feel real. And no one will ever know you’ve had cosmetic dentistry.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is three parts:

  • A titanium implant, which is surgically placed in your jaw and acts as the new root for your artificial tooth
  • An abutment that protrudes from the new "root" that eventually holds your artificial tooth
  • A functional dental restoration that looks just like a natural tooth and connects to the abutment

What Is the Dental Implant Process?

After placement, the titanium implant heals and eventually bonds with the surrounding bone and tissue. After healing is complete, we attach the abutment and connect it to a natural-looking dental restoration. This is your new fully functioning tooth!

At Buxton Family Dental, we keep you relaxed and comfortable during every step of the dental implant process, and we offer several inexpensive sedation options for you to explore.

What Happens after a Dental Implant?

Following your implant, Dr. Buxton will provide you with after-care instructions and monitor your progress.  In no time, you’ll be able to take advantage of your new tooth. You can chew food again and smile again.

Your new tooth looks like a natural tooth, but it can’t decay or get a cavity! Still, it’s important to keep the surrounding tissue clean to prevent gum infections—just like the rest of your teeth.
