This young patient chipped her front teeth when she swam into a swimming pool wall! Chipped or worn front teeth can be repaired in several ways. The most conservative and affordable method is with dental composite, our most commonly used filling material. This little patient had a see-saw accident at a local park that left her missing most of her front tooth. Luckily, the nerve was not exposed, there was plenty of tooth to work with and we had a very cooperative patient! A composite bonding was placed to mimic the tooth's original appearance. When this patient is older she will likely need a crown here, but a bonding with our composite filling material is a more appropriate remedy for a young set of teeth.

It's very common to have lateral incisors that are "peg-shaped" or much smaller than is typical. Many adults end up veneering or crowning these teeth to make them blend in better with their smile. A veneer or crown on a child or teenager is something we try to avoid though so "bonding" the teeth with standard dental composite is a great solution at an early age.
